A star is born. And then three more. (http://www.thetimesonline.com/)
Latesha is on the eggs. Latesha is off the eggs. Latesha is cuddling the eggs. And in the past few days, three fluffy white falcon fledglings have hatched. It may not be a Jerry Bruckheimer production, but a Web camera installed on a smokestack at a NIPSCO generating station gives a bird's-eye view of the daily doings of a peregrine falcon mother dubbed "Latesha" and her, at last count, three fledglings. more... 5/5/2006

Cuddly WebCam (http://www.shinyshiny.tv/)
I don't know what I find the weirder idea. Staring into a standard camera lens in order to make 'eye contact' with your cam-pal, or looking at a stuffed toy with a funny nose. I think I'd find the little doggy version much less bizarre than the monkey. Monkeys are just too human. These little web-cams from USB Geek allow you to feel a little more interaction with your friends, instead of staring at a faceless piece of glass. Available for $25. more... 5/5/2006
Thinking Small (http://valleyadvocate.com/)
Leslie Fishbein, president of Kacey Fine Furniture, was idly watching a T-Mobile commercial when inspiration struck. What if we replace our drivers' cell phones with camera phones, she wondered. That way, she figured, delivery personnel at the Denver retailer could take photographs at their destinations to show that they had not damaged a customer's walls or floors--or, if they did, document the problem instantly. Not especially revolutionary or groundbreaking, Fishbein knew, but clearly a step forward. In fact, that's exactly the kind of modest brainstorm for which Fishbein constantly is hunting. Her six-show-room chain thrives on new ideas. Fishbein collects them in three-ring binders. Since 1995, she's filled four such binders--at 10 to 20 ideas per page and 200-plus pages per binder, that's more than 10,000 ideas. And the best ones, she says, often turn out to be those that at first appeared simple, even mundane. "The point," she says, "is not the big hit but incremental improvements all the time." more... 5/4/2006

Tree Swallow Webcam, International Migratory Bird Day At Ashland, Oregon's North Mountain Park (http://www.newsashland.com/)
Ashland, Oregon - It's HERE! The 2006 nesting season is upon us and the North Mountain Park Nature Center has its own bird cam! You and your entire family can watch the park's Tree Swallow nest box, located in the waterway near the park's main pond, as the adults busily build their nest. You'll notice, as of the 4th week in April, that the birds now have their nest about halfway completed. They fly-in with dried material - much of it appears to be straw - and are constructing it in a circular, nest shaped pattern on the bottom of the bird box. more... 5/3/2006
